The announce- ment was made by Reuben Lima, CEO/founder, Archion. With its launch, Archion intends the Omni Hybrid as a storage solution for virtual reality, augmented reality, visual eff ects, animation and motion graph- ics, and other rendered content. It off ers the combination of a large amount of bandwidth through a single NAS media server to handle 4K DPX/UHD streaming video and advanced accelerated IOPS performance dedicated to rendering, CGI and transcoding applications. Omni Hybrid off ers 8,000MB/sec. for 4K and oth- er streaming demands, and over 600,000 IOPS for rendering and CGI graphics. The product has been certifi ed with Adobe After Eff ects, Autodesk Maya/ Flame/Lustre, The Foundry's Nuke, Blackmagic Resolve and more. The Omni Hybrid off ers scalabil- ity with simple and aff ordable expansion, and can grow to 1.5 Petabytes of data. "It's a testament to the signifi cant intellectual property we've built over the years that enables our company to off er such tremendous performance both in throughput and IOPS out of just a single, aff ordable NAS system," says James Tucci, Archion's CTO. "This enables accelerated graphics and editorial workfl ows on the one system. This is a huge advantage, as the user does not have to wait to migrate media from one tier to the other." Omni Hybrid is geared toward 4K workfl ows.
