Another advancement in the ongoing evolution of the CatDV product line, CatDV 12 features an updated and streamlined user experience along with native support for Square Box Systems' re- cently introduced Server 7. In addi- tion, CatDV 12 now includes enhanced support for audio fi les, including an advanced waveform display, VU meters and the ability to handle more audio tracks. The system's logging and ingest capabilities have been updated, and CatDV 12 is now able to operate independent of specialized video players. With strong support for large installations, CatDV features a 64-bit architecture and a robust play- back engine that natively supports the latest broadcast and camera formats. Square Box will also introduce Worker 7 for Linux, the latest version of the company's workfl ow automation solution for CatDV MAM deployments. With full support for Linux environments, Worker 7 for Linux makes CatDV an even more compelling option for large-scale enterprise users who need to manage huge volumes of assets. Also featured is the CatDV Pegasus Server, which enables fast, Google- style searches across millions of assets and includes support for Oracle and Microsoft SQL server databases. NUGEN AUDIO'S NEW AMB BATCH FILE PROCESSING SOLUTION LEEDS, UK — At IBC, Nugen Audio (www.nugenaudio.com) will introduce its new audio batch fi le processing solution, AMB, together with a signifi - cant new upgrade of the company's Halo Upmix plug-in for upmixing stereo audio to surround. Nugen Audio's AMB (Audio Management Batch) processor is a new solution built on the concept of the company's Loudness Management Batch (LMB) processor. Through new features, such as threaded algorithm processing and multiple processing threads that are addressable for simultane- ous parallel handling of fi les and queues, AMB enables post facilities to speed workfl ows signifi cantly and reduce delivery times. With AMB, Nugen adds several customer-driven enhance- ments and capabilities that bring greater fl exibility, operational scalability and enhanced processing speed to the core system. Nugen will also introduce a signifi cant upgrade to its Halo Upmix software for upmixing stereo audio to surround. Available in Avid AAX, VST and AU formats, Halo Upmix automates the creation of a stereo-to-surround, down- mix-compatible upmix with unique center-channel management and spatial density controls. Producers can target various upmix goals, including full stable surrounds, exact downmix matching, and/or full dialogue isolation. SONNET ANNOUNCES NEW STORAGE & NETWORK SOLUTIONS IRVINE, CA — Sonnet Technologies (www.sonnettech.com) will be making a number of product announcements at the 2016 IBC show in Amsterdam, including the Fusion Thunderbolt 3 PCIe Flash Drive. This is a rugged, pocket-sized solid-state drive storage device, capable of trans- ferring data at speeds of over 2,100 MB/sec., and is equipped with 512GBs of fl ash storage. It's a fast alternative to portable SATA-based hard disk drives, SSD storage devices and USB thumb drives. The Fusion connects to any Windows computer with a Thunderbolt 3 port via a user-re- placeable captive 0.5-meter Thunderbolt 3 (40 Gbps) cable. The Fusion Thunderbolt 3 PCIe Flash Drive features a fanless aluminum enclosure that enables silent operation. The device is bus-powered and requires no power adapter. The company is also introducing the CFast 2.0 pro card reader, the fi rst product in its new SF3 Series of Thunderbolt 3 pro media readers. It features a 40Gbps Thunderbolt 3 interface and dual CFast 2.0 card slots. These features enable the reader to ingest from both cards simultaneously at transfer speeds up to 1,100 MB/s — more than double the average of USB 3 readers. RTW TO DISPLAY RANGE OF LOUDNESS SOLUTIONS COLOGNE, GERMANY — RTW (www.rtw.com) will be showcasing its full range of monitoring and metering software and hardware devices, as well as a few new product updates at IBC 2016. Its new audio processor hardware, APRO-CLC01 for Continuous Loudness Control (CLC), will be shown for the fi rst time in Amsterdam. The combination APRO-CLC01 provides the fi rst OEM hardware for the CLC algorithm that RTW developed in cooperation with the German Institut für Rundfunktechnik (IRT). The CLC signal process- ing algorithm allows users to constantly control and reg- ulate to a given program-loud- ness value and defi nable loudness range with minimal obstacles for unknown, live content. RTW is also announcing that software Version 4.0 is available for its Loudness Tools and Mastering Tools software. The new version adds support for Mac OS X 10.11 El Capitan and addresses user requests with features like a selectable 12 th octave RTA, cinema loudness (TASA and SAWA) and free scalable instrument size. With this version, the Loudness Tools and Mastering Tools software can also be operated as a standalone version. In addition, RTW will exhibit software Version 1.5 for TM3-Primus and USB Connect. Version 1.5 adds support for Mac OS X 10.11.
