August 31 - September 21, 2015 6 Working World l WorkingWorld.com ON THE COVER by Francesco Caprio F rancesco: You're the director of community outreach for Charter College, and you're the first vice- chair for two veteran organizations: the San Fernando Valley and the Antelope Valley Veteran Employment Committees. Tell me about Charter College. Ms. Creswell: Charter College delivers educational programs in areas where job demand is strong and where local employers have the need for specific skills in their employees. Many of our students are looking to find a career that is meaningful but have responsibilities that make continuing education hard to fit into their lives. Charter College delivers our curriculum in a fast-paced, structured environment matching a schedule that allows the student to complete many certificate level programs through a blended hands- on methodology alongside online course work. Many of our programs are also offered in a completely online environment. This helps busy people find the time to complete their education in a much shorter time-frame than traditional college schedules. Francesco: What else do you offer? Ms. Creswell: We offer programs in the fields of health care, legal, vocational trades, business and IT. Depending on the field of study, we have Certificate level, Associate Degree and Bachelor Degree programs as well as a Masters of Business Administration. Francesco: How do you feel Charter College is unique? Ms. Creswell: Charter College is constantly evolving its educational model to deliver the right education to its students through technology and skills that will make them better employees upon graduation. No challenge is too large for us to tackle when it comes to producing great graduates to fill the jobs in the markets we serve. Francesco: Do you have any events coming up? Ms. Creswell: Well, on August 28th, we completed a successful Career Fair for veterans in the Antelope Valley community.
