Among their vines are 20 different clones, giving Director of Winemaking Paul Clifton plenty of opportunity to create complex, nuanced wines. A native of the Monterey Bay area, Clifton has a winemaking background in Pinot Noir. He studied winemaking in a cool climate while earning his post-graduate degree in New Zealand, and has made wine in the Santa Lucia Highlands since 2003 after working with winemakers at other renowned California Pinot Noir producers. Clifton says his facilities are set up Seared lamb loin over root vegetable purée.
