DELTA CONNECTS ATLANTA TRAVELERS TO THE BEACH THIS WINTER WITH DAILY NONSTOP FLIGHTS TO GRAND BAHAMA ISLAND Delta Airlines has made traveling to The Bahamas easier than ever with new daily nonstop flights between Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport (ATL) and Freeport Grand Bahama Island International Airport (FPO), which started in December. The new service connects those traveling from or through Atlanta to The Bahamas in two hours as well as direct flights and smooth connections back to the U.S. G r a n d Bahama Island is home to a variety of resorts that fit every budget, nestled among miles of beautiful beaches. Its assortment of cultural experi- ences and eco- logical wonders make Grand Bahama Island ideal for nature-based activ- ities including kayaking, dolphin experiences, scuba diving, fishing, air- boat eco-adventures, jeep safaris and bike tours. The flight timetables between Hartsfield-Jac kson Atlanta International Airport (ATL) and Freeport Grand Bahama Island International Airport (FPO) are as follows: Sunday – Friday Flight #5317 Departs Atlanta (ATL) at 10:05 AM and arrives in Freeport (FPO) at 12:03 PM Flight #5318 Departs Freeport (FPO) at 12:43 PM and arrives in Atlanta (ATL) at 2:37 PM Saturday Departs Atlanta (ATL) at 9:50 AM and arrives in Freeport (FPO) at 11:47 AM Flight #518 Departs Freeport (FPO) at 12:37 PM and arrives in Atlanta (ATL) at 2:28 PM *Sunday-Friday flights operated by Regional Jet 900 and Challenger 890 while Saturday flights are operated by an MD-88 aircraft. In addition to non-stop service, other conveniences make travel to Grand Bahama Island a breeze. GREATER MIAMI CONVENTION & VISITORS BUREAU NAMES CARLOS M. TAIT, DIRECTOR OF TRAVEL INDUSTRY SALES LATIN AMERICA AND THE CARIBBEAN The Greater Miami Convention & Visitors Bureau (GMCVB) has named Carlos M. Tait to the position of director of Travel Industry Sales, Latin America and the Caribbean announced William D. Talbert III, CDME, GM-CVB president and CEO. "I am delighted that Carlos has joined us as direc- tor of Travel Industry Sales for Latin America and the Caribbean," said Talbert. "He is a very well-known and highly respected travel and tourism industry professional with over 25 years experience with American Airlines. His knowledge and experience in the international arena along with his well-established relationships in Latin America and the Caribbean will provide a seamless transition to quickly generate result s for our destination." Tait's responsibilities at American Airlines included creating impactful and successful revenue generating programs, developing high performing teams, managing multiple locations in domestic and international markets, launching new services and growing market share in existing markets. His career with American Airlines began in New York as a cus- tomer service manager. His ou tstanding performance and abilities were quickly recognized, leading to his promotion to account man- ager for New York Sales. Tait's success in creating brand loyalty and multiple community related projects in the New York/New Jersey market resulted in his promotion to regional commercial manager with responsibility for the Latin America and Caribbean Corporate Sales Group. In addition, he was responsi ble for the Regional Sales and Marketing operations in Mexico and seven Central American countries. Prior to joining the GMCVB, Tait held the position of Division Sales Manager with American Airlines and was responsible for sales and marketing activities in 14 countries representing $250 million in annual revenue. His many accomplishments include achieving 20% revenue growth, increased market share and profitability. "We have had the pleasure of working with Carlos over the years during his tenure at American Airlines," says Rolando Aedo, GMCVB executive vice president and chief marketing officer, "and we are thrilled to welcome him to the GMCVB Team. Tait has a BBA in Marketing from City University of New York – Baruch College. He is fully bilingual in English and Spanish.
