Check out their website at www.T4ttucsonstore.org for more information. free Markets and the Constitution seMinar Middle and high school teachers of economics, civics, social studies, and history are invited to participate in an upcoming seminar sponsored by the Hoogland Center for Teacher Excellence (CTE) at Hillsdale College, a non-sectarian Michigan liberal arts college founded in 1844. The seminar will be held on the campus of Arizona Christian University, 2625 E. Cactus Rd., Phoenix, Arizona, 85032. Scheduled for Friday, March 28, 2014, the one-day seminar is entitled, "Free Markets and the Constitution." Participants will explore the principles of free market economics and the relationship between the Constitution and the free market. Distinguished seminar speakers include Hillsdale College faculty members Dr. Michael Clark, Assistant Professor of Economics; Dr. John Grant, Assistant Professor of Politics; and Dr. David Bobb, President, Bill of Rights Institute. Following attendance at the Aspen Ideas Festival, the student/educator scholar teams will return home and create Local Ideas Festivals in their schools. Applicants' schools must be public high schools (including charter and magnet schools) where at least 25 percent of students are eligible for the free/reduced lunch program. Potential scholars must be legal U.S. citizens or Permanent Residents in their junior year with a GPA of 3.5 or higher and be taking Advanced Placement or International Baccalaureate classes. Scholar applicants should demonstrate leadership in school and the community and have scored exceptionally well on PSAT/SAT/ or ACT.
