AREA GUIDES array of stunning archival exhibits, arti- facts, and the original lunch counter in its original footprint at the 134 S. Elm St. facility. The Museum is delighted with the interest from the local commu- nity and visitors from across the coun- try. In planning your visit, please be aware that all tours at this time are guided and run approximately one hour. Two spaces available at the Museum for meetings, the Auditorium and the Gallery. The Auditorium, with a max capacity of 172, offers the latest in sight and sound technology, while the Gallery accommodates middle size groups. Larger groups will appreciate the flexibility built into every aspect of the Greensboro Coliseum Complex. For each of the 800 events presented yearly, a variety of configurations are possible. The 167,000-sq. ft. Special Events Center can be partitioned into four halls, leaving 60,000 sq. ft. for exhibits and 4,500-seat general seat- ing setup for group sessions or enter- tainment. Or, a convention might choose to use the 23,500-capacity Coliseum Arena and adjacent 2,376-seat War Memorial Auditorium. Smaller confer- ences and meetings will enjoy the more intimate 298-seat Odeon Theater. When used with the arena, this setting complements the interactive require- ments of press conferences, seminars and meetings. Not only have recent renovations made the Coliseum Complex one of the largest in the nation, but they also have put the facility on the leading edge of technological convenience. State-of-the-art sound, rigging, lighting and partitioning curtains for various seating configurations create the ideal environment for many meetings and events. Many area hotels also offer meet- ing space, including the 990-room Sheraton Greensboro Hotel at Four Seasons/Joseph S. Koury Convention Center (250,000 sq. ft. of meeting space), 247-room Grandover Resort 64 & Conference Center (45,000 sq. ft.), and the 280-room Greensboro Marriott Downtown (23,000 sq. ft.), as well as a host of smaller properties located in the restored 1929 F. W. Woolworth building where four NCA&T students ignited the 1960 sit- in movement. The Museum houses an array of stunning archival exhibits, artifacts, and the original lunch count- er in its original footprint at the 134 S. Elm St. facility.
