Both the show and the database are commission-free, and open to any ADG member or retiree in good standing. There have been four pop-up shows at the fabulous MorYork Gallery in Highland Park, the most recent this past November 21-23, and our online database is growing every day! The initial idea sprung from monthly meetings in the women's committee. We are an active bunch who enjoy finding new and creative ways to connect members to each other. For many people, the pop-up art show fills the hole left behind by the closing of Gallery 800. This is a new way for members to network with each other, sell artwork, promote side hustles or display their favorite pieces. Fine art and vendor products are combined to make for a wide variety of items and price points. I've challenged members to bring me their wildest pieces and they have! Each gallery show has had between 25 and 40 members participating. People often ask how I curate the show, and I tell them it's not curated! Our members are such fantastic artists, the show needs no curation. The application process is first-come, first-served. The only barrier to entry for any 800 member is timely application and artwork submission. Announcements about sign-up periods for the gallery shows are sent out via the Things You Should Know newsletter and the ADG's social media accounts. Our next show is November 20-22, 2026. A.
