In addition to Production Design, Bo directed The Cat in the Hat, as well as episodes of The Tick and five episodes of A Series of Unfortunate Events, one of which earned him a DGA Award nomination for directing. He maintains that directing has made him a better Production Designer. Bo's work spans over four decades and exhibits a wide range visual storytelling. In that time, he has been nominated for four Oscars, won a BAFTA, an LA Film Critics Award, and has numerous ADG Award and Emmy nominations.
