Dear Bobbi, It is with deep admiration that I congratulate you on receiving the Editor Guild's Fellowship and Service Award. Your remarkable career—spanning over three decades and encompassing more than a hundred film and television credits—is a testament not only to your skill, but to the persistence, excellence, and heart with which you have served this industry. From your early days mastering every corner of sound post—effects libraries, machine rooms, ADR, and supervision, to your leadership on acclaimed projects across film and television, each step has reflected your determination to learn, grow, and elevate the craft. You set a high bar for artistry and professionalism in ADR supervision and editing. Beyond your technical mastery, your warmth and accessibility have always stood out. You are deeply respected and well-liked by colleagues and collaborators alike. In a field historically dominated by men, and in the face of the additional challenges that come with being a woman of color, you never allowed obstacles to define or limit you. Instead, you built and expanded your business with perseverance and grace, inspiring many along the way. Your contributions to the broader community are equally remarkable. As a longtime leader of the Motion Picture Sound Editors and an active member of the Motion Picture Academy and other organizations, you've strengthened institutions and broadened opportunities for others. You have consistently made yourself available as a mentor, educator, and guide—helping younger people find their voices in sound and ADR, and sharing knowledge generously through workshops, panels, and programs. Your resilience deserves particular recognition. In an industry that can be unforgiving, you have not only endured but thrived—sustaining an extraordinary career while maintaining excellence, integrity, and generosity. That strength is to be commended. You are an encouragement to women across the industry: a living example that talent, combined with hard work, courage, and service, can lead not only to personal achievement but to lasting, positive impact on the craft and the community. Congratulations again, Bobbi. This award is more than deserved. May you continue to inspire, mentor, and create for many years to come.
