MOTIONPICTUREC O S T U M E R S .O R G 23 What do you feel is your most important aribute in your cra, or your strongest skill? Leticia Sandoval: I do mostly all the leather work which is what my passion is. And the Marvel world requires so much of it, the combination of so goods, combined into craing. So now I do all the specialty like the muscle suits. I still do all that sometimes out of Sco foam. That's how we started back before there were sculptors. I sculpted and then made molds and ran them out of foam. We did it all out of Sco foam, or reticulated foam, as a lot of people call it. It has mostly been creating shapes and doing the leather work. Creating our own shapes and manipulating leather to do what we wanted it to do. It's been a lot of leather, and going back to foam suits and fat suits, stuff like that. Deborah Ambrosino: Number one, I like to make things. And have an interest in a lot of things. So it's millinery, it's metal work, it's cra work. I like to figure out how to solve different problems. How can we do this? How can we do this the best? And I've been fortunate because I get hired to do that. Get hired to R&D (Research & Development) and to problem solve, which is so interesting for me, and just being able to find solutions. Keith Muessigmann: I'm known to be a hard worker and I'm not afraid of the hours of what it takes to get something done. And I'm self-taught: self-taught to the point where I was able to get a job with John Ridge, who worked for Halston. I learned a lot more about paerning and skills from him. I assisted Ruth Hosey for a few years, who was another great Paern Maker. I learned a lot from her. I've worked with Dale Wibben and assisted him for a few years. I'm self-taught to get myself in the door, and I learned enough from those people. I've been very fortunate to come in at FUN FACT: "The visual design of the first Superman came from multiple influences. The tight- fitting suit and shorts were inspired by the costumes of wrestlers, boxers, and strongmen." David Corenswet as Superman in Warner Bros. Pictures' Superman (2025). © 2025 WARNER BROS.
