It's been 25 years since Ron Howard's adaptation of the
beloved Dr. Seuss book and animated classic from 1966, How
the Grinch Stole Christmas, came to the silver screen. The
Costumer Quarterly had the pleasure of siing down with
Men's Finished Costumer Ruben Calderon, who started out
on the Grinch as a background costumer and then moved
up to taking care of Martha May, The Who-ville played by Christine Baranski, to
reminisce about his time on this unforgeable movie.
Ruben Calderon got his start in costumes in 1992 with an internship at
Telemundo because he wanted to write for the news and travel the world. In a twist
of fate, Warner Bros. had an internship position available. Aer countless faxes, he
started on a two-year internship and received his union days on the TV classic Step
by Step. Ruben has been a Local 705 member for 30 years.
