16 B M & T ••• July/August 2025 ••• www.blackmeetingsandtourism.com with her strategic vision, has allowed her to seamlessly transi- tion into this leadership role. Over the past year, Miller has focused on strengthening partnerships, enhancing the District's appeal, and driving sustainable growth. Her forti- tude as a leader during Covid was tested and proven when revenues increased by 70% once she made a bold move and catered to the Black dollar. Her professional trajectory is underscored by a philosophy of continuous improvement and inclusivity. She views the District's cities—College Park, Hapeville, and Union City— not just as destinations but also as communities with rich cul- tural heritage and untapped potential. Her leadership empha- sizes collaboration with local businesses and organizations, fostering a shared vision for the region's future. Influenced greatly by her early experiences, she believes strongly that as a leader, you have to make a conscious effort to train those that are on the floor- whether they are stacking chairs or clearing tables, and train them to be catering man- agers, and event planners creating opportunity for the next generation. And above all, "you have to make a concerted effort to always remember your team comes into work with a spirit to serve, so honor that," says Miller. Accolades and Community Engagement Miller's achievements extend beyond her professional contributions. Her induction into the National Coalition of 100 Black Women, Metropolitan Atlanta Chapter, is one among many honors recognizing her dedication to empower- ing others. She has been consistently featured on prestigious lists, including Atlanta Business Chronicle's "Top 100 Leaders in Hospitality" and Georgia Trend's "500 Most Influential Leaders." Her involvement with numerous boards and organizations highlights her commitment to community and service. Whether serving as chairperson for the ATL Airport District CVB board of directors or contributing to the Motherless Daughters Foundation, Miller demonstrates that effective leadership is rooted in giving back. A Life of Service and Passion Beyond her professional accomplishments, Miller's per- sonal life reflects her quiet strength and ability to balance what matters most defying stereotypes. She is a devoted wife to her best friend, mother of four, and proud Me-Me to her grandchildren. Her love and passion for sports is only rivaled by her love to serve. A dynamic woman of faith and lover of Prince, what fuels her is staying connected to the culture and energy of the Southside community she calls home. A Vision for the Future As the District evolves, Miller remains steadfast in her commitment to service, diversity and inclusion and ensuring that the vibrant communities she represents are celebrated and elevated. In the future she hopes to see more colleges educate youth about hospitality careers- sales and marketing. Her story serves as an inspiration for those who aspire to lead with purpose and passion, leaving a rich legacy that resonates far beyond professional achievements. "Pay it Forward!"
