MOTIONPICTUREC O S T U M E R S .O R G 29 Spotlight on BG Costume Team Spotlight on BG Costume Team Lili Pillet Lili Pillet Lili Pillet has been working in costumes for more than a decade after going to school at renowned national school, ENSATT, in France and getting her MFA in theatrical costume design. Before moving to Los Angeles in 2019 and getting her Local 705 qualifying days on Never Have I Ever Season 2 and the Tier 0 film Emily the Criminal, she worked as a theatrical Costumer in NYC's Local 764. "I started my career assisting designers on opera productions in France and got an internship at the Metropolitan Opera in NYC. I moved on from the stage to film and TV jobs and worked as a Costume Supervisor on a Bollywood blockbuster in Paris. I also designed multiple indie films, miniseries, and commercials there, as well as in London. I permanently moved to the US in 2018 and got a job as a Shopper at the Met Opera where I was in charge of swatching fabrics, buttons and trims for designers and worked as an Assistant Costume Designer for Kaye Voyce on multiple Broadway shows." Rachel Stivers Rachel Stivers Rachel Stivers spent seven seasons of her high school and college years working in costumes for the theater summer stock program Music Circus in Sacramento, preparing Broadway musicals in a two-week time span. "I worked with some really incredible Costumers who taught me all the fundamentals of garment care, script breakdown (it is different for theater, but the idea is the same). I worked in the costume shop as a Stitcher there for two seasons and learned the pace and magic of a custom-made workroom. Being able to put together a Broadway show in two weeks certainly prepared me for the pace of TV production!" Stivers got her degree in Costume Design for Theatre from UC Irvine, costuming her way from Northern to Southern California. Joining Local 705 in the early 2010s after flipping the show Eagleheart where they shot three seasons out of a combo trailer with no lift gate, Stivers now works as a Key Costumer. Corey Mansfield Corey Mansfield Corey Mansfield, a Key Costumer, and Local 705/892 dual card holder, fell into costuming after studying art history and curatorial studies but reassessed her career when Costume Designer Deb Scott wanted her help on reshoots for a film Scott had just designed. "I immediately fell in love with the craft—it was the perfect blend of my art education and my love for film—and I've been a Costumer ever since." She joined Local 705 in 2016 on a waiver from the TV series Speechless. "I love working with designers to create a character through clothes—whether on period or contemporary projects, I am always striving to really bring their vision to life via my pulls."
