Murder, Movie Stars, and Multiples MA MAXXX XXXINE INE By Erin Wenrick aXXXine is the third installment of Ti West's X horror trilogy, following the films X and Pearl. The film's main character, Maxine Minx (played by Mia Goth), is an adult film actress who gets her big break acting in a Hollywood horror film in 1985 Los Angeles. While a serial killer is taking out her friends, Maxine is being stalked by a mysterious killer, as well as by a ceaselessly threatening private investigator who tells Maxine to meet with his client or her crimes that occurred in the previous film, X, would be revealed to the police. The seing of 1985 Los Angeles allows the film to explore the world of the adult entertainment industry, Hollywood's studio system, and the period when the Night Stalker terrorized the city. Costume Designer Mari-An Ceo recreates the feel of the mid- '80s with iconic influences. Finished Costumers Melissa Yanda and Jayde Dennis ensured that the vision of Ceo's design was accomplished on screen. Melissa Yanda worked as the Trailer Costumer on the film. In her youth, Yanda learned sewing, kniing, and crochet from her grandmothers and has always been interested in drawing and design. M 18 SUMMER 2025
