Korey: What are some of the unique features of Boom Box Library? Kate: Our libraries are meticulously curated to fill specific needs in the industry. For example, our pinball collection includes high-quality sounds that are difficult to capture due to the noisy nature of pinball machines. We also have libraries for human vocalizations, auxiliary percussion, and chimes which are great for sound design and trailer stings. Jeff: We focus on creating libraries that are easy-to-use and well organized. We ensure that the metadata is useful and that the file names are simple and easy to recognize. Our goal is to make the libraries as user-friendly as possible. Awards and Recognition Korey: You've received numerous awards and nominations. Can you share some highlights? Jeff: Over the past 11 years, we've been nominated for 23 MPSE Awards and 17 Emmys, with three Golden Reel wins and one Emmy win. This year, we received nominations for Invincible, Transformers: EarthSpark, Santiago of the Seas, and Baby Shark's Big Movie!. Kate: We're extremely honored when the MPSE recognizes us. The Golden Reel wins are a real point of pride because they come from our peers in the sound industry and this organization. Korey: What do these awards mean to you and your team? Kate: These awards are a testament to the hard work and creativity of our team. It's incredibly rewarding to be recognized by our peers in the industry. The Golden Reel wins are especially meaningful because they come from fellow sound professionals who understand the intricacies of our work. Jeff: The Emmy nominations and wins are also a huge honor. They highlight the quality of our work and the impact we've had in the industry. We're proud of what we've accomplished and look forward to continuing to push the boundaries of sound design. Encouraging MPSE Membership Korey: I heard that there's been a push in your company to get folks to join MPSE. Can you tell us more about that initiative? Kate: Absolutely. About a year ago, we reached out to the MPSE to discuss our passion for animation sound and how we could have more of a voice within the organization.
