"Fusion has a long history of hosting and honoring women in film, including Issa Rae, Kasi Lemmons, Miranda July, Lilly and Lana Wachowski, and Amy Sherman-Palladino. Cece, your remarkable achievements as an iconic sound designer, as well as your passionate work as a teacher and mentor inspire us profoundly. In recognition of your extraordinary career, we celebrate you with our Lifetime Achievement Award." –Susan Sandler, Faculty Advisor, Fusion Film Festival In addition to receiving the award, Cece honored the students (and faculty!) with a masterclass on sound. She engaged the audience at the awards ceremony with stories and examples of masterful sound design, meticulously going through film sequences and demonstrating the purpose and influence of the sound. NYU student Camden Colquhoun stated, "Cece Hall's masterclass gave me a lot of valuable knowledge about sound design and fueled my motivation to pursue audio post-production as a female artist! It was such a rewarding experience to listen to her masterclass and ask her questions about her time in the industry." The MPSE is proud and honored to have such an inspiring and generous artist representing our craft worldwide. Our heartfelt congratulations to Cece Hall! O Marsha McKeever, Cece Hall, and Florence Barrau-Adams. Cece and NYU students. David Barber, MPSE President, Cece Hall, and Florence Barrau-Adams. Susan Sandler and Cece Hall
