In the case of Dune: Prophecy, which is rooted in the expansive mythos of the Dune universe, a decades old worldwide fan base who are legion will want a series that is grounded in canon. This series is inspired by two prequel trilogies co- written by Brian Herbert and Kevin J. Anderson, particularly, Sisterhood of Dune. Those books are in turn deeply indebted to the original seminal 1965 novel Dune by Frank Herbert and his sequels. The importance of in-depth research is paramount.
