Superman first appeared in Action Comics #1 in 1938, but the medium goes even farther back... The Adventures of Obadiah Oldbuck preceded Action Comics #1 by over one hundred years. One can even go back to the prehistoric cave drawings in Lascaux, if we're just talking about telling stories with drawings. Alley-Oop should be proud! As comics as a medium has endured, telling stories with pictures have advanced well beyond cave drawings. Movies continue that tradition, by telling our human stories in ways the cavemen could never imagine; and the people who create those films always start the creative process with a series of sequential doodles. The ADG represents some of the best of those "doodlers," who still create and help tell our humans stories the same way the cavemen did—by hand, and with a drawing implement. It's not a skill that can be outsourced to technology, because telling human stories reflects human experiences, and hand- drawing is part of that expression. The comics represented here reflect the diverse ideas, dreams and experiences of some of the best "doodlers" the world has to offer. Enjoy! OH, BUBBA LU! IS A COMEDY ANIMATED SERIES.
