Joe Foglia CAS has always been an advocate for sound mentorship. I think this is what separates those who have a true passion versus those who just have a job. When you sincerely love your work, you want to share it with others. In continuing the history of internships at his company Southeast Audio Services, Joe wanted to invite an intern to the Scrubs Season 6 sound department, comprised of himself as production sound mixer, former SEAS intern Kevin Santy on boom, and myself as utility. This was in 2006, well before Local 695 had a formal trainee program, so there was some serious leg work to be done, being that this was a rather unusual request. Interns usually went to production offices, or maybe post (that is how I got my start). But dropped into the chaos of a film set? Never. Insurance was one problem. Getting this officially approved by ABC and producers was another. L-R: Brent Findley, Anna Wilborn, Kevin Santy, Joe Foglia, and Tucker Rose in 2006.
