The two finally crossed paths, with Mark expressing his admiration for the series and his desire to work with Michael. After this initial meeting, it took a couple of years before producer Guin McPherson brought their paths back together on a project called Powers. Mark's persistent ambition to work with Michael paid off, and in 2015, he became Michael's go-to sound supervisor. However, Mark's wish to supervise more seasons of Justified was not going to happen, as the show had concluded its six- season run. Despite this setback, Mark and Michael enjoyed a fruitful collaboration on various projects. An unexpected twist occurred when Mark's wife, Deby, who is a registered nurse, had become a huge Justified fan herself and cared for a patient named Timothy Olyphant, the show's star. Deby shared this exciting news with Mark, who promptly called Michael Dinner, expressing his surprise at hearing the news indirectly. The conversation sparked excitement, and Michael confirmed that they were indeed considering another season and writing scripts for it. Mark was thrilled that his dream of supervising another season of Justified might come true. Eventually, they did embark on another season of the beloved show, fulfilling Mark's long-held aspiration. Mark was even more thrilled to hear the Board of the MPSE put forward Michael Dinner as the honoree for the MPSE Filmmaker of the Year Award for 2023.
