The Hollywood Sound Museum and I have joined the production. Through Anna's investigative efforts, a few new discoveries were made about the infamous recording … including what may be a definitive answer to the question of who the voice actually is behind the scream. The mission of The Hollywood Sound Museum is to share the craft of entertainment audio—and the history behind it—as completely and truthfully as possible … so I asked Anna Quinlan to help me clear up some of the inaccuracies that have been recently shared about the scream. We'd also like to give our readers here an update on The Wilhelm Scream documentary, and tease some of the new discoveries we've made along the way. ANNA QUINLAN: As I come up on a year since first reaching out to Steve Lee about the Wilhelm Scream sound effect, it feels incredible to reflect on everything that has happened since then. I've spent hours upon hours looking through extensive cast and crew lists to identify the sound effects supervisors responsible for using the scream in more than 400 films, TV shows, and video games. I've spoken at length with legends of the industry like Gary Rydstrom, Randy Thom, Richard Anderson, Mark Mangini, Ron Bartlett, David Barbee, and of course, Steve himself. I've connected with people across the country and the world who love the Wilhelm Scream like I do. STEVE LEE: I have to say I was a little wary of participating in a Richard Anderson Ron Bartlett Steve Lee and Anna Quinlan at the former site of Weddington Productions
