The technology in the silo was very basic, as decided by the silo founders. Most communication would be verbal, much like a mediaeval society. There were virtually no paper or books. There was a basic computer system for the passing of certain bits of information to the silo population. The design of the computer hardware was based very much on what you might see in the early '80s, as personal computers were slowly evolving. After concept design approval, all the computer hardware was purpose built for the show by Jonny Norman and the prop-making team. Silo, for Apple TV+, with show runner Graham Yost and director Morten Tyldum, was an extraordinary and exciting show to be involved with, as well as being extremely challenging. Everybody in the Art Department, the set decorating and prop department, and the construction department totally immersed themselves in the project over an 18-month period. And given the challenges involved in helping to bring this silo world to life, we are all very proud of what we were able to achieve.
