hardware, furniture, wall treatments, and art that the couple had in their actual apartment and made sure that the models of the piano and harpsichord were also the same as what Lenny had in the home. We used soft Rosco backdrops for outside the windows to show Central Park on one side and the Upper West Side on the other. Other miscellaneous sets that were built on stages include the Watergate Hotel suite in Washington, DC, the California beachside Casa Del Mar Hotel room, and the Upper East Side doctor's office. The venues we used for the filmed concert scenes included Carnegie Hall, Ely Cathedral in the UK, Lincoln Center Rose Theater, Tanglewood Shed and Tanglewood Theater, among others. Period music stands were designed and built, correct period chairs sourced, and podiums and sheet music created for each venue. The theater space where Felicia and Lenny visit the night they first meet was shot at the Cherry Lane Theatre in the West Village, and the scene where Felicia takes her bow on Broadway was shot at the St. James Theatre. In each case, we masked any contemporary details that were not appropriate for the period and designed the set for the Broadway production in which Felicia was the understudy for the lead. The set A.
