project wrapped, the crew had built more physical scenery than any single Marvel film had before. This astounding amount of building was achieved by seasoned construction coordinator Chris Snyder, talented lead scenic Damon Bowden and their tremendous teams, while coordinator Molly Flick kept the art office running impeccably. One of their most outstanding accomplishments was building our Bowie spaceship: the largest spaceship ever built in Marvel history. So that all the actors and the Steadicam could freely move throughout the ship, the production built a 3-story-tall set made up of seven spaces all connected through a central core. In scene after scene, characters are seen charging down one space and pull around into another, climbing flights of stairs, and interacting with one another from separate levels. It felt like we all lived on a real spaceship for that moment in time, the kind of magic that only the film industry can offer. The build timeline may be the most stunning aspect of this accomplishment. We were originally supposed to have twenty weeks to pull off this build. Just before we broke ground, the shooting schedule changed (as it so often does) and the build needed to be completed in sixteen weeks. Some of our construction team members worked over seventy days straight—even during the worst of the Omicron strain—in order to get this set done on time.
