1632 OPENS FOR PRODUCTION AND POST
GLENDALE, CA — 1632 Stage + Post (www.1632pro.com) is a new
production and post production facility located at 1632 Flower Street
in Glendale. The studio is home to 6,500-square-feet of production
space, including a two-walled cyclorama (38'x30'x13') with an adjoin-
ing control room, a Dolby Atmos mix stage and multiple editing bays.
Recently, rapper Nas made use of the studio to shoot a video for
his new album, "Magic 2." Directed by Kid Art, the video took advan-
tage of the flexible space, with several different stage sets and green-
screen background.
"As the new kid on the block, so to speak, I couldn't think of a more
killer way to introduce ourselves to the production world than by
hosting an absolute music legend in Nas," states 1632 VP/studio man-
ager, Greg Ruoff. "A brand-new song from a brand-new album, filmed
at a brand-new facility...it's poetic."
According to Ruoff, 1632 has also hosted pick-up sessions for
features, as well as a live, in-studio event for Old Spice featuring a top
Twitch gamer. The team built a set that resembled his game room,
which would then break away for marketing inserts, all while stream-
ing live to the platform.
In addition to the 7.1.4 Atmos mix room, 1632 features two edit bays
equipped with Boris FX, Avid Media Composer, DaVinci Resolve and
the Adobe Creative Suite, as well as a screening theater that's also set
up for color grading.
