VEGAS CREATIVE SOFTWARE IMPROVES CONTENT CREATION TOOLS, PARTNERS WITH BORIS FX MADISON, WI — Vegas Creative Software (www.vegascreativesoftware.com) has announced Vegas Pro 21, a major upgrade to its flagship Vegas Pro family of video/audio editing, color grading, effects and cloud-integrated content management and acquisition tools. The company has also partnered with Boris FX to develop a version of their Emmy award-winning Mocha motion-tracking product that's specifically designed for Vegas Pro 21. Mocha Vegas is a custom version of the Mocha planar-tracking tool and can be launched directly from inside Vegas Pro. The new Z-Depth tool in Vegas Pro 21 enables artists to achieve creative compositing results and flexible video effects handling. With it, users can define a threshold point between two layers in a still image or video — a foreground layer and a background layer — and then treat those layers differently. Content creators can now add an adjustment event to a project and apply effects to that event. Then, any video event in the timeline directly below the adjustment event will inherit the effect from that adjustment event. The Offset and Wrap OFX plug-in enables users to create motion effects on video images. And text- to-speech functionality has been transferred from a local-based feature to a cloud-based feature through Vegas Cloud Services. Now out of beta, the new Smart Masking plug-in analyzes a video frame and uses AI to identify objects in the frame that can be used to generate a mask. Once the Smart Masking tool has identified an object or objects for masking, it will add a Bézier masking plug-in to the FX chain with a mask already in place. The newly-created masks are fully adjustable. Additional improvements include updated button icons, a rebuilt content system through Vegas Cloud Services and a quick-upload function.
