FROM THE
PRESIDENT
Welcome to an extraordinary year as
the Guild prepares to celebrate its 20th
anniversary. From the LMGA to the LMGI,
each year has propelled this organization
forward. From an idea hatched in Los
Angeles, we have taken flight: to New York,
Atlanta, South America, British Columbia,
Toronto, the UK, Ireland, Europe, Australia,
Asia and all points in between!
Through our international Fam Tours, seminars, events, Zooms, workshops,
websites, newsletters and magazine, we have united a once disconnected
legion of international location professionals into a community that shares
a common purpose: to elevate our craft within the most exciting and
challenging industry there is!
Be on the lookout for articles in the LMGI Compass exploring the history
of the Guild. Inspired by the passion of our founding members, we will be
looking back so we can continue to fly forward.
This year also marks the 10th anniversary of the annual LMGI Awards
Show and this year's gala event promises to be spectacular. I invite you
to come to Los Angeles on Saturday, August 26, and be a part of the only
international awards show that celebrates location managers, scouts and
film commissions.
Please contact the Guild to see how you can be a part of all the special events
and gatherings now being planned! On behalf of myself and the entire Board,
