Result: PASSED 23-102: ISEA will work with the Iowa Department of Education to get clarity of the 30 minutes of required physical activity each day for K-12 students. Result: PASSED 23-103: The ISEA, through existing communication channels, will recommend that chemical fire extinguishers should be provided in each classroom. Result: FAILED The primary duty of your elected delegates is to speak for you at the Delegate Assembly. They vote on resolutions and new business items sent through the Iowa State Education Association's Resolutions & New Business Committee and amendments to ISEA Bylaws. Items can also come from the floor during the assembly. A resolution is an item that provides direction, does not call for direct action and has no sunset date. A formal resolution is usually prefaced with words such as: The ISEA believes ... opposes ... supports. A new business item calls for a specific action and has the life span of one year. A formal new business item usually begins with words such as: The ISEA shall study ... inform ... request ... develop. Resolutions Amendments New Business 23-101: Legislative Program. Result: PASSED ** Non-Substantive Changes Shall the Articles of Incorporation and Bylaws of the Iowa State Education Association be amended to address identified, but non- substantive, changes to clean up page references, update language, and correct style and grammatical errors?
