At Palisades High School, she participated in the theater and photography department, which led her to pursue a path in the arts. She received her bachelor of fine arts from Carnegie Mellon University, where she majored in theatrical set design with an interest in costume design, art history and dramaturgy. Upon graduating, Florencia began her career as an Art Department assistant, working on Mad Men, A Single Man and Parks and Recreation for the venerable Production Designer Dan Bishop. Fascinated by being on-set and building the world of a character, she turned to the set decoration department to continue learning the ropes of film production. Florencia contributed as a buyer on the films Her, The Master, Gangster Squad and Transcendence; and later as a set decorator on the television series Twin Peaks, American Crime Story: The Assassination of Gianni Versace, and Feud: Bette and Joan, as well as on the feature films Manchester by the Sea, Operation Finale, Woodshock, Us and Birds of Prey. In 2019, Florencia was given the opportunity to Production Design writer/director Andrew Dominik's feature film Blonde and after reuniting with writer/ director Paul Thomas Anderson on a series of music videos for the group HAIM, she went on to Production Design his most recent feature, Licorice Pizza. G A R E C L I N E grew up in a Northern California town that had very little culture. The only way he could see movies that were outside the mainstream was to drive two hours to San Francisco. He did this almost every two weeks throughout his later high school years. It's there that Gare discovered foreign films and fell in love with them. Directors like Fellini, Polanski, Herzog and Weir became inspiration to be a filmmaker. And especially Kubrick. Today, Gare is a small filmmaker and visual designer. He's worked with a number of companies and directors, including Sony Pictures, The China Film Studio, Brian Yuzna and Volker Von Schlondorf. Gare has been in this business for over 25 years. Ten years of it as a lighting designer where he's worked on over ninety commercials and features, including Amityville Horror and Society. He's done a lot of horror. His checkered career includes a brief shift as a foreign correspondent for the Belgium magazine, Cine-Tele- Revue. Even a fleeting stint in stage where he was the assistant director for the Armory for the Arts in Santa Fe, New Mexico, and the lighting assistant on the U.S. premiere of Sam Shepard's Fool for Love at the Magic Theatre in San Francisco. Gare's education includes studying cinematography at the American Film Institute and editing at the Film School of Half Moon Bay. He can safely say, he knows a lot about filmmaking, and loves the art form.
