T H E D I G I T A L WAV E | P E R S P E C T I V E 7 3 Igor Knezevic My thesis (as an architecture student at TU Vienna, Austria) was for a bioclimatic tower. Fully modeled in 3D in 1995, this design was my own testing ground that I try to update every 10 years using whatever new 3D CG tech is available. The version done in 2003 won 1st prize at International 3D Award for architectural visualization. I was able to join the ADG working on a film, In Time (PD: Alex McDowell). It was an amazing intro to world building. The film was shot on locations in LA by none other than Roger Deakins, so I was illustrating keyframes on top of the DP's photos of real LA locations. I kept experimenting with the design process and explored parametric/generative design workflow using tools such as Rhino and Grasshopper3D. That exploration resulted in making some outlandish- looking 3D-printed objects, which were exhibited and published internationally. It also led to a gig on a film Passengers (PD: Guy Hendrix Dyas). Generative 3D tools I used on my 3D-printed objects were used here to develop forms and parametric exoskeleton of the spaceship Avalon. B. STAR TREK PICARD LIBRARY. C. PICARD LIBRARY RUINED.
