Jen filled the accounting side with a massive amount of clutter and debris, all with a tinge of Arizona. She also personally customized the vertical blinds with some red marble sticker paper. We wanted to give the psychic side a more calming/spiritual look, so Jen dressed it a bit sparser. The room was lit with blue neon behind some sheer space-print curtains. Jen had brought a soft glowing sphere lamp which ended up fitting perfectly under the table. Arizona Diner/Roadside Bathroom There were a number of smaller/regional sets that are almost "blink and you'll miss it" but equally loved. The rest stop bathroom was a three-walled set that was matched to a rest stop location at Charlie Brown Farms. Taking some color and architectural cues, the crew tiled the walls with "root beer" B&W tile, gave the ceiling and upper walls a popcorn texture with some patches, and used everyone's favorite (and often rejected) 99ยข stick-on vinyl tile from Lino City for the floor. The paint department did some amazing scenic work to make the space feel "lived in" (if that could be said for a bathroom). They overpainted the metal stalls and then peeled back the paint, which was one of my favorite details. The pivotal Arizona diner scene where Ava reads Deborah her email was shot on location at the First Street Family Diner in Simi Valley. Although minimal work was done to this location (besides removing the COVID barriers), Graphic Artist Evan Regester spent much time and effort into perfecting the Grand Canyon repeat pattern behind the booths. The image came from an iStock vintage scan that was blown up, smoothed out and given a brushed texture with an added blue sky. It's a visual element that really gives a sense of place without being too distracting. D E F G H I
