stairs going from that hallway to the floor, some custom Soviet era nuclear control panels, sourced some actual Soviet military work lights, added a clunky cryogenic chamber and some crazy secure custom-built animal cages. The end result was what looked light a multimillion-dollar facility stuck in time, waiting for the show's hero to unwittingly free the villain for the remainder of the season. Later in the story, the production also found itself in need of a Russian oligarch's gaudy mansion. Initially, we set out to find this exclusively as a location, and again found a great candidate. Upon scouting it with the stunt and SPFX team, it very quickly became obvious that, once again, we would need to build a set that could editorially be part of this amazing location. We just couldn't create rig points for stunt cables, and we were worried about all the loss and damage from the gallons of makeup FX blood that would be left behind.
