B M & T ••• November/December 2022 ••• www.blackmeetingsandtourism.com 17 ners represent events with attendance ranging from 50-10,000, which will ulti- mately generate significant economic impact for our community, as well as a chance to introduce our city to diverse visitors," says Peggy Williams-Smith, president and CEO of VISIT Milwaukee. "Attracting more travelers of color is a key priority for my team. I know Milwaukee's hospitality commu- nity is as proud as we are to roll out the red carpet for this stellar group." The planners in attendance are looking to book meetings in 2022 through 2024 and have already expressed interest in booking in Milwaukee. They represent businesses and organizations such as: Habitat for Humanity International; National Organization of Black Elected Legislative Women; Delta Sigma Theta; NAACP; Edible Arrangements; and Ford Motor Company. "We are excited to be here," Black Meetings & Tourism said in a statement. "We know Milwaukee is sure to be a great des- tination for meetings and events!" Many community leaders with ties to the groups the planners represent were invited to help welcome the group at various stops along the tour.
