She comes to the studio from Nice Shoes, where she held the same title. Her career also includes roles as senior colorist at Framestore, head of color at Carbon VFX, and head of color grading at Serena Digital. Carretero's diverse portfolio of work spans award-winning commercial cam- paigns and long-form projects. Her commercial credits include work for Apple, Balenciaga, Porsche, Allstate, Jeep and Disney. She has also contributed to Super Bowl spots for Michelob Ultra, Walmart and Avocados from Mexico. RICH VENEZIAN Remote Picture Labs in Burbank, CA, recently named Rich Venezian director of business development. He will work alongside Sal Baldomar, who serves as vice president of sales for Remote Picture Labs, in bringing content creators the hybrid and remote post production workflows that help them tell their stories and deliver their shows with efficiency. Venezian has more than a decade of experience in the post industry. He began his career on the technical side and then transitioned to more client-fo- cused roles. His diverse work experience includes roles as an Avid installer, sales coordinator, DI producer, sales executive and director of client relations. BEN ENTRUP Bicoastal edit house The Den has added editor Ben Entrup to its expanding team. He has worked across commercials, documentaries and feature films, and has credits that include projects for Apple, Audi, Coca-Cola, Facebook, Fila, Lexus, Mercedes-Benz, Nissan, Sony and Volkswagen. Recently, he edited the German series Souls, which won two awards at the 2022 Canneseries Festival. Entrup grew up in Berlin and was drawn to editing early in his childhood. He graduated from the prestigious Filmakademie Baden-Württemberg and began his career at production company Markenfilm, becoming an editor for the advertising agency Springer & Jacoby shortly afterward. Entrup later made his way to the US, interning at Final Cut in Los Angeles and New York. MARK KAPLAN Veteran post executive Mark Kaplan is joining Goldcrest Post in New York City as its new executive vice president. He will be tasked with growing the facility and attracting more work from both inside and outside New York City, including Los Angeles and London. Kaplan comes to Goldcrest after 20 years at Technicolor (now Formosa Group) in Los Angeles, where he was VP of broad- cast sales. He is relocating from LA to New York as he assumes his new respon- sibilities. Over the course of his career, Kaplan has worn many hats, including those of sales & marketing executive, producer, director, post production supervisor, talent manager and serial entrepreneur. In addition to his tenure at Technicolor, he has lengthy experience as a freelance post supervisor. AMÉLIE POITRAS The Fuse Group (www.fusefx.com), parent organi- zation to visual effects studios FuseFX, Folks, Rising Sun Pictures and El Ranchito, recently announced the appointment of Amélie Poitras as president of Folks. She will succeed Sébastien Bergeron, who recently took on the role of CEO of The Fuse Group. Poitras has been part of the Folks team since the visual effects studio's founding in 2012. With a background in management and accounting, her role has evolved over the years, from producer to exec- utive producer, head of the Montreal studio, and now president of Folks. In addition to having a huge role in establishing Folks' identity and culture, she has also been instrumental in the company's expansion to Toronto, Bogotá and Saguenay. She was also a driving force behind Folks' acquisition by The Fuse Group in April 2020.
