Her agenda includes: Strengthening St. Lucia's relationship with travel advisors Improving air connectivity, including the new and exciting market of Dallas, Texas as well as areas in Canada Promoting the new "Collection des pépites", hundreds of smaller properties to choose from Welcoming the arrival of AMResorts, Courtyard Marriott and Hyatt brands to the island ANGUILLA DEBUTS SPECIAL WELCOME RECEPTION FOR VISITORS The Anguilla Tourist Board (ATB) is treating visitors to the island to an especially warm Anguillian welcome at both ports of entry, the Clayton J Lloyd International Airport (CJLIA) and the Blowing Point Ferry Terminal. Twice a month, on the busiest arrival days at the respective ports of entry, visitors to the island will be welcomed with refreshments and gift items, courtesy of the local stakeholders. The ATB is partnering with local stakeholders from every sec- tor of the industry — accommodations, service providers, desti- nation management companies, and other tourism auxiliaries — to ensure that the program is sustainable over the long term. Started as a pilot program in April, the ATB will greet both the arriving and departing guests at the two ports of entry. "We are constantly working to enhance our visitors' experi- ence," declared the Hon. Minister of Tourism, Mr. Haydn Hughes. "We are known for our hospitality, and we recog- nize the importance of ensur- ing that both the first and last impressions of our island are equally memorable." "We appreciate the gener- ous support of our stakehold- ers with this program," said Mrs. Stacey Liburd, Director of Tourism. "This is truly a collab- orative effort, and we are delighted to see one of the main goals of the Destination Experience Unit coming to fruition." "Aurora Anguilla is delight- ed to be part of this extraordi- nary welcome to the island," said Christopher Walling, Vice President of Operations for Salamander Hotels & Resorts and Managing Director for Aurora Anguilla. "Sharing Aurora's warm hospitality even before guests arrive to the resort sets the tone for a distinctive vacation." The first welcome reception took place on April 16th at the CJLIA. Subsequent receptions were held on May 21st with Aurora Anguilla Resort, and on May 27th at Blowing Point, in partnership with Tropical Distributors. ABOUT ANGUILLA Tucked away in the northern Caribbean, Anguilla is a shy beauty with a warm smile. A slender length of coral and lime- stone fringed with green, the island is ringed with 33 beaches, considered by savvy travelers and top travel magazines, to be the most beautiful in the world. A fantastic culinary scene, a wide variety of quality accommodations at varying price points, a host of attractions and exciting calendar of festivals make Anguilla an alluring and entrancing destination. Anguilla lies just off the beaten path, so it has retained a charming character and appeal. Yet because it can be conve- niently reached from three major gateways – Miami, FL (MIA), Puerto Rico (SJU), and St. Martin, (SXM), and by pri- vate air, it's a hop and a skip away.
