B M & T ••• July/August 2022 ••• www.blackmeetingsandtourism.com 13 Walt Disney has been dubbed a genius and visionary for good reason. He absolutely was just that, an adult genius with a child's eye and heart. Disney knew instinctively what kinds of things make people happy. He was so focused and sure of his vision that years later, Disney is celebrated around the world as the gold standard of what entertainment should look and feel like. Walt Disney World Orlando celebrates its 50th anniversary this year as an entertainment paradise designed to encompass all things that remind us to embrace our inner child. Whether we are 5 or 95, we all want to smile and experience a little magic in our lives. Disney is on point and justified in using the slogan "Where Magic Happens". Disney World, Orlando, Florida is the perfect example of what an amusement park/destination meeting venue should look and feel like. Disney World is divided into 7 separate and distinctly dif- ferent amusement parks: Magic Kingdom, Epcot, Disney Hollywood Studios, Animal Kingdom, Typhoon Lagoon, Blizzard Beach, and Disney Springs. Each park is designed around a theme. Disney Orlando boasts Resort Hotels, Board Walk Inns, Yacht and Beach Club Resorts, casual to Michelin starred restaurants as well ballroom, training and meeting room space for groups from 24 to over 5,000. As any meeting planner or corporate event organizer will admit; The Devil is In the Details. They will also say that the really smart event organizers will always offer memorable experiences to guests in addition to the standard meeting agendas. Disney delivers memorable experiences that are unmatched by any other amusement park and entertainment venue by paying copious attention to every detail imaginable. The Disney experience is produced by mandating that every employee be trained on the unique customer service protocol used throughout Disney Park. From the courtesy displayed by the doormen to the attendants in the amusement park, guests are made to feel special. BY ARMANDA HERBERT
