18 • LMGI COMPASS | Summer 2022 DOPESICK Authentic and gritty, this series follows the people in an Appalachian community aff ected by the opioid epidemic and exposes the inner workings of the pharmaceutical company that aggressively marketed OxyContin. From deep in the Virginia coal mines to the high-tech boardrooms of Purdue Pharma in New York, the story comes to life in the modest homes and mountain towns of the drug's earliest victims. Ground Zero in the epidemic, Richmond and the Central Virginia region tell their own tragic story from the point of view of users, corporate pushers, dealers and the government agents who fought big pharma. Dopesick Inventing Anna Station Eleven OUTSTANDING LOCATIONS IN A TV SERIAL PROGRAM, ANTHOLOGY OR LIMITED SERIES INVENTING ANNA The true story of Anna "Delvey" Sorokin, the fake heiress who swindled her way to the top of New York high society takes us to extravagant locales in NYC and Paris, a lavish hotel in Marrakesh and a yacht off the coast of Ibiza. Filmed in Morocco, New York and Los Angeles, locations show the upscale lifestyle Anna aspired to and the dark government courtrooms and notorious Rikers Prison where her clever schemes eventually land her. A small market town fi lmed near Berlin evokes her family's humble backstory as Russian immigrants in Germany, and the more modest digs and working offi ces of an influential magazine describe the world of the reporter who breaks Anna's story. STATION ELEVEN We follow survivors of a virus that quickly decimates the world's population—from the traumatic event and its aftermath. From locations in Chicago, we witness "the before" during a production of King Lear staged in the heart of the theater district, to a frantic shopping spree in a southside grocery store and a top floor of a glass condo to watch the chaos and ruin of the city below in the "after." Twenty years later, a caravan of actors and musicians travel the route outside Chicago, along Lake Michigan—but fi lmed in towns in and around Toronto and the shores of Lake Ontario in Canada—to entertain evolved communities that have made former airports and golf resorts their home. Lyrical, poetic and compelling, the locations beautifully imagine this post-apocalyptic world where art and theater endure.
