In June, the Art Directors Review Panel selected twenty five new and exceptionally talented young designers from a field of fifty six applicants for its 2021 Production Design Initiative. The demand within our professional community for these eager and focused participants remains exceptionally high. The participants are employed and compensated, just as any production assistant would be, by the signatory production company that might hire you or them. The initiative is designed to provide on-the-job mentorship, supervision and training to future Art Directors and Production Designers, providing the participants with real-time workplace experience and exposure to our profession. In tandem with their work opportunities, they participate in ADG community service activities, Z I R A O Z h a n g Zirao "Zero" Zhang, born and raised in Beijing, graduated from China's Zhejiang University with a bachelor's degree in architecture.
