LABORATORY STAGE SET. D Maxine was raised in Beijing, China, for the first ten years of her life, soaking up all the 's cinematic special eects that would later inspire her to go to design school. She got her BA in architectural design with a minor in business from North Carolina State University, but soon realized she would rather design castles than practical mix-use developments. For the past decade, she has worked in gaming, animation, fashion, entertainment, and tech industries as an Art Director and visual designer, trying to explore dierent places to merge her lingering love for architecture and the stories that spaces tell. She has enjoyed working with companies such Apple, Disney, Activision Blizzard, Google, and Snap Inc., as well as over eighty commercial productions. Marian Wood is a recent Production Design graduate at the American Film Institute. he first received her bachelor's in interior design at Fay Jones School of Architecture, where she studied abroad in Rome and interned at architecture studios in between her studies. Outside of her formal education, she crafted sculptural displays as a designer on the visual team at fashion company Anthropologie and designed sets for a variety of theater shows. During her few years in LA, she has brought her skills and love for hands-on collaboration to narrative film, designing a multitude of shorts and music videos. Marian considers herself from No-Particular-Part-of-Texas, moving around the vast southern landscape during her growing up years, and is most attracted to stories with a great deal of heart and a touch of whimsy. Carolyn is from the small town of Newton, Kansas, where she attended Newton High School. During her time there, she developed a passion for the arts, theater and photography. During her senior year, she accepted a scholarship to Santa Fe University of Art and Design, where she studied film production while focusing heavily on the Art Department. Graduating with a bachelor's in 2013, she landed an internship on the etix film, The Ballad of Buster Scruggs. From there, she was able to work as an art assistant on various features and TV shows in New Mexico and Georgia. She feels fortunate to learn and grow along so many talented artists and looks forward to continuing to strengthen her skills within the Art Department. E F G H I
