Cleggett, who joins the team as national sales manager, comes to the bureau most recently from Forci Media where she assisted clients with public relations, editing and marketing services. As national sales manager, Cleggett will contribute to the sales team by developing business for national accounts. Cleggett is a graduate of the University of South Alabama where she obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree with print journalism as her emphasis along with sociology as her minor studies. Volunteer services include the Young Women's Empowerment Conference which she founded in 2008. The Puerto Rico Convention Bureau is pleased to announce that Marcus A. Cade has joined the organization as national sales manager. Cade is a proven hospitality professional with extensive group sales experience. Over the past decade, Cade has worked for the Atlantic City Convention & Visitors Authority, the Salt Lake City Convention & Visitors Bureau and most recently, at the Bellagio Resort in Las Vegas. In addition, Cade has taught at Richard Stockton State College and Rutgers University, both in New Jersey. Cade's professional affiliations include MPI, National Coalition of Black Meeting Planners, National Association of Black MBA's, Professional Convention Management Association, Destination Marketing Association International and others. 10 Galloway Beck has served as director of the Department of Human Resources for the City of Charlottesville since 1998. He is currently responsible for development and administration of the City's human resources policies, procedures and programs. The latter include employee relations, compensation and benefits, recruitment and retention, personnel administration, EEO and diversity, training and retirement. Prior to his position in Charlottesville, Beck served for 13 years in government positions with the City of Austin in Texas. Beck has a MA in Political Science from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee and undergraduate degree in Political Science from Rhodes College in Memphis, TN and is a certified as a Senior Professional in Human Resources(SPHR). The Sacramento Convention & Visitors Bureau (SCVB) has appointed Angelina Nunez convention sales manager with a full-time emphasis on the faith-based market in an effort to leverage the Religious Conference Manage-ment Association's (RCMA) Sacramento debut in 2014. Nunez will concentrate on the retention and future growth of this important market segment for both citywide and single hotel pieces of business. Nunez brings 12 years of hotel experience in sales, convention services and meetings to her position, most recently as group sales manager with the DoubleTree by Hilton in Sacramento. Prior to relocating to Sacramento, Nunez spent seven years at the Holiday Inn and Crowne Plaza hotels in San Jose where she consistently exceeded her sales goals. Visit Pittsburgh, the official tourism promotion agency for Pittsburgh and Allegheny County, has hired Tamara Whiting as its new national sales director. In this position, Whiting is responsible for the minority, religious and women's convention markets, as well as handling selected association accounts and territories. She has a record of top performance in sales and marketing, and is also skilled in social media. Most recently, Whiting was the account manager and social media trainer for Expion, LLC, in Raleigh, North Carolina. Prior to working at Expion, she also held positions at Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide, Patch.com (an AOL Company), and Brunner Digital. Ursula Grant serves as the convention sales manager for the Myrtle Beach Area Convention & Visitors Bureau. She is a 20 + year hospitality professional but still works diligently to provide excellent customer service to meeting planners. In her position, Grant is responsible for the promotion of the Myrtle Beach area as a convention and meeting destination to the Corporate and Association markets. He works closely with meeting planners, to coordinate numerous meetings, citywide conventions and trade shows held in the area throughout the year. The Myrtle Beach Area Convention & Visitors Bureau is a non-profit organization that is the only officially recognized marketing organization for the Myrtle Beach Area, known as the Grand Strand.
