Beverage Development Manager Eric Hay of Wirtz Beverage slam-dunked the Iron Mixology Best in Show and Best Dessert Drink. Glazer's Corporate Mixologist Caterina Miltenberger, who is known for her amazing dessert cocktails, also used Kenny Chesney's new Blue Chair Bay Spiced Rum and two secret ingredients, rhubarb and Thai basil, for a play on a sparkling punch with muddled blood orange. Armando Rosario of SWS created a liquid dessert in a glass, prepared with Pyrat Rum, pistachio cream and crushed pistachios on the rim with chocolate sauce. Best Aperitif went to Chris Chamberlain of Charmer Sunbelt, whose drink was For Nonno (Nonno is Italian for grandpa), comprised of Carpano Antica Formula, Lillet Rose, Solerno Blood Orange, rhubarb jam and rhubarb juice, topped with tonic. The Iron Mixologist contest began when the secret ingredient basket was revealed to include rhubarb, grapefruit and basil.
