CREDITS LAST YEAR’S M.I.C.E. WORKSHOP WITH TWO BOOKINGS INTO CARIBBEAN I just wanted to give you and BM&T some feedback from my attendance at last year’s Caribbean MICE Showcase in NYC. We were able to book two groups to different islands in 2009 as a result of attending the showcase: 1. October 2009 - Corporate Board Retreat – Half Moon in Jamaica 2. December 2009 - Trade Mission – Hyatt Hotel – Trinidad with meetings also in Tobago as part of the mission Thanks so much to BM&T for affording us the opportunity to make these meetings a reality during these tough economic times. We are most grateful. I would like to come again this year to the event but I know that you need to rotate folks to get more plan- ners involved. So I will hold off until the next time but the first one was a success and a great help to my com- panies. If, however, you run short of planners, keep me in the loop for this year again. Best regards to Gloria...and keep up the great work that you are doing. Gratefully yours, Dr. Patricia Newton, President Newton-Thoth, Inc. International Meeting Planners & Sebayit Tours STATEMENT FROM NMSDC ON CONFERENCE RELOCATION The National Minority Supplier Development Council will hold its 2010 Conference and Business Opportunity Fair October 24-27 in Miami Beach, Florida. This conference was originally scheduled for the same dates in Phoenix, Arizona. The decision to relocate the conference was made as a result of the concerns of NMSDC’s members and con- stituents about the impact of Arizona S.B. 1070. The bill is inconsistent with the ideals and principles upon which the NMSDC operates, including valuing diversity and inclusion for all.
