Pacific Highway's Partners and Select Tasting Notes Dennis Wood, Sommelier at Chops Lobster Bar in Atlanta, GA was our wonderful host for pairing wines from the Pacific Highway portfolio with the restaurant's excellent cuisine. Foppiano Vineyards Best known for its Petite Sirah, Foppiano has been producing wine since 1896. The family's prime real estate in Northern California's Russian River Valley affords them premium fruit to develop category leading wines. Foppiano 2009 Petite Sirah, Russian River Valley ($20) Plush with blueberry fruits and dark chocolate, notes of anise and white pepper accent this wine's full-bodiedness and its long silky finish of black and red fruits. LangeTwins Winery and Vineyards Based in Lodi, California, the Lange property was originally the family's watermelon farm, dating back to the 1870s. In 1916 they began cultivating grapes. Today, identical twins Randall and Brad Lange are the family's fifth-generation winegrowers, producing balanced wines rich with flavor. LangeTwins 2010 Caricature, Lodi ($14) Juicy and fresh with aromas of plum, blackberry and black cherry. Jammy and plush, it's a blend of 84% Cabernet Sauvignon and 16% Zinfandel from the Lodi region. 76  /  the tasting panel  /  april 2013
