HM790 is a general-purpose camcorder featuring a modular design and a complement of accessories. The unit fea- tures three 1/3-inch CCDs, which allow for a compact form factor and better maneu- verability in the field. The HM790 produces 1920x1080 images and can record in 1080i, 720p and SD (480i). It records at 35Mbps in HQ mode/variable bit-rate or 19Mbps/25Mbps in SP mode/con- stant bit-rate. And JVC’s native file recording technology allows for recording in ready-to-edit file formats for Final Cut Pro (.MOV) and other major NLE systems (.MP4) that are compatible with the Sony XDCAM EX workflow. JVC expects to ship the JY-HM790 in July for $11,995.
