C. Senior Illustrator Matthew Cunningham's future study concept. We need to find new paths for learning and training. We attend drawing workshops to maintain skills, but that's not where learning happens, and we take continuing education classes, but those require time commitments that are frequently undermined by the need to start a new job, work long hours on short notice or leave for a distant location with little time to prepare. The opportunities provided by Eido to learn, refresh and revive skills is invaluable. • Traditional classes in drawing, sculpting and painting give members tactile learning experience from figure construction to sketching environments and from sculpting a character to background painting. • Traditional lectures are packed full of knowledge in anatomy, color theory and composition that can redefine ways of thinking about art and image making. • Design classes that cover characters, creatures, vehicles and more allow for the exercise of both traditional and digital skills using traditional media and digital tools like Photoshop, allowing the integration of the tools of the design process to promote a smooth transition from concept to completion. • Creative design lectures take you through historical periods from antiquity to the modern world, in such series as the History of Architecture and Design or Furniture and Ornament, as well as classes in cinematic genres from westerns to sci-fi. • Software classes provide members from novice to advanced levels with the opportunity to sample an extensive variety of programs, from Modo to Vectorworks and ZBrush to Maya, just to name a few. Experience with a variety of software that plays a crucial part in production pipelines allows members to make critical choices in selecting the tools that will be most useful to them and most desirable to their Art Departments.
