Back-to-School 2017 | wyoea.org 10 Grady Hutcherson WEA Vice President ghutcherson@wyoea.org Belonging to WEA Welcome! I always find myself excited and full of anticipation as a new year approaches. It is very rewarding to know that I will have a brand- new opportunity to have a positive impact on my students, along with students around the state, and to have the opportunity to continue serving and representing education professionals throughout Wyoming. Belonging to the Wyoming Education Association is an important responsibility for all education professionals. After all, it is the WEA Mission to be a unified voice that engages, educates, and empowers our members to advance a high-quality education for all. As education professionals, we have to be the ones that lead this effort because we are the professional experts in the field of education. There are numerous opportunities for you to be engaged in advancing a high-quality education for all, whether it be at a building, local, or state level. Mentoring new education professionals, having conversations with policy makers, attending meetings, or taking on leadership roles are just a few examples of how you can participate in advancing a high-quality education for all. Our voices are stronger when we are unified. It is difficult for me to think of a more important mission. I encourage all members, and invite potential members, to be engaged in this important mission and to belong to the Wyoming Education Association. Again, welcome back and make it a GREAT year! August 8 th Cody and Powell Leadership Training We had a wonderful day & focused on communicating WHY membership and involvement is important.
