For ten years, Wendy has lead the winemaking team, made up of five highly qualified individuals, which now include the production in Tasmania. Wendy is the most awarded winemaker in the King Valley region and will be celebrating her 16th vintage at Brown Brothers this year. The Pitch—Why Importers Should Add Brown Brothers to Their Porolio: Brown Brothers is the number-five brand by value in Australia; we are one of Australia's leading wine businesses. Our success has been achieved by a passion for varietal diversity that runs through our history and range. This not only keeps us interested but, more important, it keeps our customers excited. Our best-selling wine is not a traditional Shiraz or a Chardonnay, but a Moscato (first introduced to Australia back in 1996). Brown Brothers Moscato is the number-four best- selling white wine by value in Australia (Aztec data MAT July 2014). Our innovation has shone through again this year with the launch of Moscato–Sauvignon Blanc, proving a huge success generating over $5.5 million of incremental sales in the first nine months since launch. We have been a pioneer of exciting new wine styles in Australia, developing the beautiful, light, summer red Tarrango, and the juicy, deli- cious Cienna. Brown Brothers has the global rights to Cienna produc- tion until 2025, so this is not only a unique Australian wine varietal, but unique to Brown Brothers! The world is just discovering the wonderful wine growing region underneath Australia that is the island of Tasmania. Tasmania is a stun- ning and broadly untouched wilderness full of beautiful, sumptuous produce. As Australia's coolest wine region, Tasmania shares similar climatic features with some of the classic regions of nor thern Europe, including Champagne, Burgundy and the Mosel. It can be included in Region 1 of Amerine & Winkler's classification—defined as producing the highest-quality table wine from traditional French noble varieties. Brown Brothers owns approximately 300 hectares (740 acres) of vineyards in Tasmania, producing wines under three brands. Our Devil's Corner Pinot Noir is Australia's number-one-selling Pinot Noir, and is a perfect example of the exquisite elegance and balance of Tasmania's wines. Recent Awards and Achievements: Five Star (Red) Winery—James Halliday, 2014 23 Gold medals and 8 Trophies awarded from the most recent major Australian wine shows Australian Family Business of the Year—Hall of Fame Induction 2014 5 wines featured in Matthew Jukes's 2014/15 "100 Best Australian Wines" Markeng Plan and Support: Note for importers and distributors from BeverageTradeNetwork.com: Brown Brothers understands the dynamics of the U.S. market and has been educated on the three-tier system and the effort it takes to build a brand.
