ISEA Communiqué • isea.org October/November 2014 5 TEACHING & LEARNING CINDY'S CORNER Enroll now in new ISEA Academy Class: The Brain-Based Classroom: Moving, Talking & Thinking Your Students to Their Full Potential – 1 Credit Hour November 5th-December 10th Educators hold the power to shape students' brains. Insights into how the brain functions allow educators to more fully understand what stimulates and grows the brain and how that drives learning. This new understanding provides explanations as to why tried-and-true strategies work so well. It also allows educators to capitalize on new approaches and strategies to maximize student learning by accessing the brain's innate learning pathways. In this course, participants take an in-depth look at three areas of brain-based teaching which are specially selected for their positive outcomes and ease of assimilation into any classroom. Special Education: Professional and Ethical Practices – online - 1 Credit Hour January 30 - March 1, 2015 April 3 - May 3, 2015 What are appropriate professional and ethical practices related to special education?
