AROUND AEA AEA Local Association Presidents' Training Local Presidents Taking the Lead Local association presidents came from across the state of Arizona to attend the twoday president's training hosted by AEA in early September. "The work is harder now and no one in this room can do this job alone." The training brought leaders together to learn from each other and form collaborative bonds. All of the breakout sessions were taught by local association leaders: •Leadership Lessons for Success Madison CTA Past President Cheryl Allen •Organizing – Issue and Crisis Scottsdale EA President Maroun Assali Mesa EA President Tammy Pursley •Time Management – With and Without Release Time Marana EA President Nicole Cozad-Pearce Paradise Valley EA President Chris Maza •Conducting One-on-Ones Amphitheater EA President John Fife •Conducting an Effective Meeting Phoenix Union Classified EA President Tom Oviatt •Site Leader Accountability Cartwright EA President Michelle Robertson "The best value from this training has been the conversations with veteran presidents," says Higley EA President Alana Charnofsky, who took office four months prior.
